Brief Description of Assignment |

Experience, Resources and Deliverable Capacity requirements:
- Proven experience in conducting protection gap studies
- Proven experience in working on insurance products, including Islamic insurance
- Technical qualifications and expertise in developing actuarial models and pricing in developing and emerging countries
- Ability to bring international best practice in developing relevant data sheets and tables
- Previous experience in working with international development institutions is a plus
- Ability to work in big teams and communicate smoothly to deliver results
- 10 years of working experience in the relevant field

Expected output:
1. Completed sector-wide Protection Gap study/report on Bangladesh insurance industry.
2. Developed relevant actuarial modeling for pricing and insurance coverage
3. Developed mortality and morbidity tables for Bangladesh based on international/regional best practices.
4. Developed training strategy for BIA
The EOIs would be reviewed on the basis of the following:
a. Registration of firm.
b. Age of firm.
c. Availability and qualification of key professionals.
d. Availability of resources (Manpower, Finance, etc.).
e. Experience of the firm in similar task.
f. Experience of the firm in other works.
g. Logistics/ support services of the firm.

A shortlist of applicants will be prepared upon evaluation of EoIs of the eligible applicants and “Request for Proposal” document will be issued in their favor. A Consultant will be selected using the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method in accordance with the procedures set out in the world Bank “Guidelines: Selection and Employment of consultants under IBRD loans and IDA credits & Grants by world Bank Borrowers” dated January 2011 revised July 2014 (Consultant Guidelines). |
