Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
Duties of IT Specialist (Insurance Core application)
• Work closely with beneficiary organizations, technical resources and other consultants on the project to analyze procedures and business processes of the beneficiaries to design & implement proper Core Insurance System (CIS) and ERP features of the applications for the respective automation;
• Help the beneficiaries in identifying the required IT tools and systems;
• Support stakeholders in business process improvements, implementing best practices and fully utilizing CIS/ERP system capacities;
• Assist in integrating different business applications of the stakeholders;
• Recommend the appropriate core insurance system for SBC and JBC, and associated infrastructure for integration of multiple systems;
• Propose suitable ERP system with required modules as per business needs of the beneficiaries and ensure that the system fulfills all user requirements and business processes;
• Assist in establishing the role and responsibility of IT Change Management within the beneficiary organizations;
• Assist in need assessment, designing, implementing and administering electronic document processing, retrieval, and distribution systems;
• Ensure technical method and testing of the software to ensure fixing of bugs reported by the end users and testing team;
• Support formulating policies and developing business analytics solution for analysis on insurance business market and overall risk analysis;
• Help in developing customer information and relationship management system (CRM);
• Help in content development, designing, other related tasks for a comprehensive interactive portal supporting online submission of regulatory data/information;
• Play a key role in interactions with the stakeholders and selected vendors/suppliers;
• Prepare Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the suppliers and ensure value for money, audit and check for system vulnerabilities & take appropriate mitigation measures;
• Conduct associated knowledge transfer training sessions to concerned officials in the beneficiary organizations.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:
• A Master’s degree in Information System (Computer Science/ Computer Science and Engineering /Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ICT/Physics/Applied Physics & Electronics) or B.Sc. Engineering in CSE
• At least 8 (eight) years' IT professional experience within the financial sector preferably in the insurance sector;
• At least 8 (eight) years' programming experience with .Net/Java, C++ & web platform including 3 years in supervising;
• IT project management certification is a plus with a proven track record of implementing financial systems/ applications in large financial/ insurance institutions;
• Experience of working with public sector organizations in Bangladesh is a plus;
• Basic knowledge of systems development, programming & software development and deployment lifecycle;
• Proven track record of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and techniques for System analysis and design;
• Adequate knowledge in CIS architecture and user friendly interface architecture;
• Experience in website designing and management;
• Thorough understanding of requirements and business processes of financial/insurance sector;
• Knowledge of industry best practices regarding digitalization and automation of financial services;
• Proven project management experience leading technical projects end to end;
• Global Standard Certifications on relevant fields are preferred.

Duration: 36 (Thirty six) months. However, the duration of the assignment may be increased or decreased according to the availability of the consultant, project needs and budget.

It is expected that the service will be commenced in August, 2019 or nearer time.
