Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The main objective of the assignment is to take proper management interventions for the conservation of Asian Elephants in Bangladesh that will contribute to the implementation of Bangladesh Elephant Conservation Action Plan (2018-2027). Proper steps need to be followed to address the main challenges and threats of the action plan. The specific objective of this assignment will be to contribute to the main objective of the BECAP that is mentioned below:
1. To reduce human-elephant conflict and elephant poaching;
2. To prevent habitat loss and increase food sufficiency;
3. To improve the protection of elephant and its habitat.
4. To augment research and improve knowledge in elephant conservation;
5. To strengthen individual and institutional capacity to conserve elephants; and
6. To educate, aware and engage stakeholders toward elephant conservation etc

Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

The shortlisting criteria are:
• General Experience of the Firm (core business and years in business)
• Specific Experience in similar assignment;
• Experience of working under donor funded projects will be added advantage;
• Firm’s relevant managerial and organizational capabilities for the assignment.
• Firm’s financial capacity and logistics for the assignment

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 (Revised November 2017) (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications, but should indicate clearly whether the association is in the form of a joint venture and/or a sub-consultancy. In the case of a joint venture, all the partners in the joint venture shall be jointly and severally liable for the entire contract, if selected. It is preferable to limit the maximum number of joint venture partners in 03 (three) including the Lead partner.
Although the lead firm in the joint venture will provide the core expertise, each partner of the JV has to be reasonably qualified to take over the responsibilities and role of any of the partners that may fail to perform or withdraws.
