INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The Engineering Design and Drawing Specialist (national) will support the SESIP, DSHE and especially EED and relevant consultants to undertake
(i) Preparation and approval of Drawing & Design Plan for Secondary level Institutions and offices of DSHE;
(ii) The Consultant will carry out the field investigation work including site analysis, sub-soil investigation, etc. as per requirements for the construction work.
(iii) Preparation and approval of Drawing and Design of relevant civil works of SESIP;
(iv) Review various plans and designs for the building. Provide recommended design with detail cost estimates including Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and brief on cost effectiveness.
(v) Necessary field visit as and when required;
(vi) Prototyping / Modelling of Drawing & Design;
(vii) Quality control of construction works as per the approved Drawing & Design ensuring the environmental issues;
(viii) Preparation of architectural/civil works design on the basis of geographical locations, including earth-quake, cyclone, flood etc. related issues;
(ix) The consultant shall prepare the sanitary/Plumbs, Water supply, Electrical / Mechanical, Furniture. design and drawing (x) The Consultant shall prepare the detail firefighting, gas line design and drawing which includes fire alarm, detection and fire-fighting system.
(xi) Orientation of EED officials on innovative architectural / civil works design view point as a part of EED capacity building. In this regards necessary manuals / modules need to be prepared by the consultant; |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
The specialist will have:
(i) Minimum Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture.
(ii) Minimum 15 years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering / Architectural Drawing & Design
(iii) Experience using drawing & design software will be a significant advantage
(iv) Previous experience with complex construction projects in education sector as a civil engineer or architect is essential.
(v) Any higher degree, especially from abroad, in the relevant field will be an advantage.
(vi) Previous experience with development organization(s) and/or in processing education infrastructure development related projects would be an asset. |
