INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
Specific tasks and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
• Assisting the PIU in reviewing all relevant documents submitted by the Consultants engaged under packages S3, S4, S5 and S6 of this Project. The documents include inter-alia, draft bidding documents, technical specifications and drawings of all terminal facilities and allied infrastructure. This shall specifically take into account the need that each terminal/landing station/vessel storm shelter:
o Functions as a point of contact between maritime and land space;
o Allows the efficient horizontal transfer between such spaces, taking into account access on both the river and landward sides, levels of existing and forecasted traffic, the type of vessels that will use the facilities, the type of goods (for cargo) to be handled and their long and short term storage or consolidation needs, and for passengers, the needs for, use by women, children, the elderly and disabled.
• Assist in managing relevant procurement processes, reviewing technical and financial submissions and proposals, construction methodologies and time schedules;
• Review and verify all reports, draft/detail design-drawings and engineering documents submitted by the Consultants engaged under packages S3, S4, S5 and S6 and carryout detailed engineering analyses and other works as may support the successful preparation and execution of terminal/landing station/vessel storm shelter and allied infrastructure activities;
• Assist PIU in monitoring, and supervision of terminal/landing station/vessel storm shelter and allied infrastructure construction activities;
• Carry out detailed engineering analyses and other works as may support the successful preparation and implementation of terminal/landing station/vessel storm shelter infrastructure activities under the Project;
• Any other duties and responsibilities as desired/ assigned by the Project Director.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |
: |
• Graduate in Civil/Water Resource/ Port/Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from a reputed university/institute. Master’s in similar disciplines will be an added advantage;
• At least ten (10) years of experience in the design, supervision or construction/implementation of civil works projects, of which minimum five (5) years in the supervision/design/construction/ upgradation/ expansion of River/Sea Port Terminals or other relevant marine structure to international standards;
• Excellent communication skills in English including for general communication and report writing;
• Conversant to work in complete IT environment;
• Experience in World Bank or other donor-funded projects.
