| Brief Description of Assignment |

The Consultant will perform a study for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line with the goals of improving accessibility while reducing negative environmental impacts, improving the general quality of the urban fabric and social conditions in the indented extension of Dhaka.
The consultant will collect and overview related Information (e.g. traffic and transport, socio-economic, geographic etc.) from existing sources and literature review. They willreview relevant Demand Forecasts, Models and other traffic analysis by previous study/ data.The consultant will conduct a Topographic Survey of the corridor along the proposed alignment for the line. Identify the suitable station location with feeder services.
The consultant will propose a preliminary Operation Plan for the BRT line, a Bus Fleet based on studies like ridership analysis, operation plan, economic viability etc. Identify Candidate Site Location and a Preliminary Plan of Depot/s.The consultant will propose an Alignment Plan which includes basic conceptual design components.
The consultant will carry out Financial and Economic Evaluation including analysis of Public Private Partnership (PPP) option among others. Carry out Traffic, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (TIA, EIA and SIA). The consultant will identify the land required for the project and prepare a Land Acquisition Proposal Carryout Project Cost Estimation including Construction Cost, Land Acquisition Cost, Resettlement/Compensation Cost and other related costs.
Formulate Project Implementation Program and phases.Prepare a preliminary Development Project Proforma (DPP) for the project.The consultant will conduct workshops and arrange working group meetings as required.
Perform such other tasks as will be detailed in the Terms of Reference (TOR) to be supplied to successfully shortlisted candidates following ranking of submitted Expressions of Interest. |

the Eastern Fringe Area of Dhaka from Narayanganj to Kapasia, Bangladesh. The Government of Bangladesh (GoB) has decided to conduct a Feasibility study for the Bus Rapid Transit Line-7. In order to conduct the above mentioned work DTCA intends to appoint Consulting firm(s) for the required services.
The BRT Line-7 will be constructed with a view to realizing the future traffic demand in the Eastern Fringe Area of Dhaka. It will connect some important nodes and trade or production centers like Fatulla, Shiddhirganj, Rupganj etc., will go through or near areas for future residential development, and also will be at the vicinity of the water retention areas. According to RSTP (2016), the projected daily ridership in the year 2035, for the approximately 60 km long BRT line-7 will be 320,900 (Pax/day) while assuming the public transport share of total passengers will be 40% of the total. |
