| Brief Description of Assignment |

Ensuring environmental safeguards compliance issues of the project and other related tasks as per requirements of World Bank under PMU, CEIP-I. The Senior Environmental Specialist (SES) shall provide the technical support on environmental safeguards compliance under national and the Bank guidelines in the project. The specialist will work as main focal person within PMU for four main tasks; i.e. i) updating EIA for Polders ( 39/2C, 40/2, 41/1, 43/2C, 47/2 and 48) under Package-2; (ii) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for rest of the polders following the Environmental Management Framework of the project; (iii) the supervision of tasks related to environmental compliance; and (iv) reporting and capacity building for environmental compliance. The expected educational qualification is post-graduation specialization in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science/natural resource management. The Senior Environmental Specialist shall have at least 7 (seven) years of working experience in preparation of EIA, and integration of environmental and social issues in the design, implementation and operation of similar type of projects. The specialist must have demonstrated sound technical expertise in international good practices on environmental safeguards. S/he must have excellent communication and writing skills with higher-level computer skills in Windows operating system (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Knowledge on GIS mapping will be an added advantage.
