INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The Consultant will investigate all the national and regional highways of Cox’s bazar, Chattogram, Dohazari , Noakhali Road Division and other coastal Road divisions (if required) of RHD including necessary surveys to find out the effects of climate change on those highways comparing to particular sets of standards ( different parameters of climate change namely temperature, rainfall, salinity etc.). They will also categorize the highways based on the severity of effects of climate change. After that, consultants will identify the potential risky hotspots of road infrastructure which are susceptible to climate change and will provide climate resilient design of those hotspots. The consultants will also procure related testing equipment and perform related testing. They will also help RHD to arrange related trainings. Consultants’ report will be verified by an expert panel and they will have to modify/rectify/update the reports/work procedures according to the panel’s requirement/recommendation.
After the study the Consultant will provide manuals on i) procedure of addressing climate change issues on highways of coastal region including different related test procedures and description of testing equipment ii) climate resilient design manual for risky portion of road infrastructure (roads/bridges/culverts), report consisting list of identified potential risky hotspots including necessary maps, climate resilient design of identified risky hotspots of highways with detailed drawing including procedures to incorporate in RHD’s Road/Bridge design, recommendation on further study and pilot/investment project and schedule of rates for environmental pay items based on the effects of environmental/climate change effects on highways and protection/prevention of environment during construction and maintenance of highways and bridges.
Consultants will have 12 months to complete the study and deliver the outputs using 53 man-month of consultants with necessary support staffs. |

Both the “ORIGINAL’ and “COPY” shall have to be covered within a single envelope. The applicant shall have to mention the page number serially in every page of submitted EOI document. |
