| Brief Description of Assignment |

Roads and Highways Department (RHD) is responsible for construction and maintenance of the major road network of Bangladesh. But RHD is now following a Pavement Design Guide which was prepared in 2005. After that, the Pavement Design Guide is not reviewed or updated. It only includes design of Flexible Pavement or granular base and sub-base. RHD has decided to engage a specialized/firm to prepare an appropriate pavement design manual and other related documents for RHD.
The Consultant will investigate the potential problems and limitations of existing Pavement Design Guide of RHD. Preparing a new Pavement Design Manual covering all types of RHD Road Network and rehabilitation and overlay design for existing pavements. They will prepare design catalogue for safe and cost effective pavement design and recommend for important design parameter in context of Bangladesh climatic conditions.
For this assignment, the input of one Team Leader (Senior Pavement Specialist) (International) and other key professionals (National) i.e. Pavement Specialist, Senior Material Engineer and Material Engineer shall be required.
