INFORMATION FOR APPLICANT

| Brief Description of Assignment |
: |
The GIS & RS Consultant will work under the supervision of the Project Director. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop a high-resolution Permanent Enumeration Area (EA) mapping methodology and provide technical guidance to operate the GIS data base for mapping;
• Assist the project team for procurement of high-resolution satellite image;
• Develop a settlement area extraction methodology from satellite image;
• Prepare a guideline for zonal operation mapping;
• Assist the team for printing the map for ground level enumerator;
• Assist the team for printing the map for ground level enumerator;
• Perform any other task as assigned by the authority and required for successful completion of the project.

| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

a) Education: • The person must have a Master degree in Geography and Environment/Earth Science/information technology with geographical knowledge from any reputed university. Master degree in Geo informatics from abroad will be preferable. Advanced academic/professional qualifications for aforementioned disciplines from recognized institution will be added advantage.
b) Experience: • * At least 07-years’ experience in planning and designing GIS database for large-scale mapping projects.
• * Previous experience in GIS mapping for national level government-managed programme would be an advantage.
• * Training and teaching skills in GIS and RS field;
* Strong communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues both in Bangla and English.
* Competence in relevant report writing.
* Having published articles in GIS and RS related field is an added advantage
* Experience as Chief Census Coordinator, Additional Chief Census Coordinator, National Census Coordinator, Additional National Census Coordinator or Census Coordinator for any previous census conducted by BBS is also an added advantage. |
