| Brief Description of Assignment |

The selected inspecting firm shall be responsible for the Pre-shipment inspection of all items imported by the BR in accordance with the terms and conditions of the purchase contract and applicable standards set out in the technical specifications, drawings, or any other standard approved by the BR and/or in accordance with reasonable decisions and instructions and orders as the BR may issue. The pre-shipment inspection shall include inspection, testing, acceptance, rejection, and supervision of loading, unloading, packing, handling, and providing rejection marks of the materials against different purchase contracts. Details Terms of Reference (ToR) have been added to the tender document. |
| Experience, Resources and Delivery Capacity Required |

BR will conduct a ‘short-listing’ of the interested inspecting firms who will have submitted Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the above-mentioned inspection services. For this purpose, experience, and resources but not limited to of the inspecting firms are as follows:
(a) Technical Competence: General experience, specific experience in similar assignments
(b) Geographic Experience: Experience in a similar geographic area.
(c) Contractual Management Experience: Substantial experience in managing Pre-Inspection Service contracts as a firm and by the key members of the team.
(d) Management Capabilities: Financial (Annual Turnover); capability to retain the required number of Key Experts who are preferably permanent employees of the inspecting firms with adequate qualifications.
(e) The Pre-Shipment Inspecting (PSI) firm shall have Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) facilities for the Railway materials/equipment/machinery or any other materials.
(f) The inspecting firm shall have adequate Physical Resources such as office, working equipment, IT Facility, Survey equipment, logistical support, etc. |
