| Description | : | The Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) organized a workshop in Barishal on 28 December, 2025 on the Public Procurement Rules, 2025 (PPR, 2025) and e-GP as part of BPPA’s ongoing efforts to enhance awareness of tenderers and procuring entity officers about the provisions of the new Rules. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) and Secretary Mr. S. M. Moin Uddin Ahmed graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Divisional Commissioner of Barishal Mr. Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman was present as the Special Guest while Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Barishal Mr. Md. Khairul Alam Sumon presided over the session on 28 December, 2025. The CEO in his speech underscored the importance of compliance with the PPR, 2025 in order to increase transparency, efficiency and competition in the process of public procurement. A total of 70 representatives from procuring entities and tenderers in Barishal attended the workshop. Mr. Shah Eyamin-Ul Islam, Director of BPPA and national procurement trainer, made a presentation on the aspects of the PPR, 2025. Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) facilitated the workshop at the DC office conference room in Barishal. The new PPR, 2025 came into effect on 28 September 2025 following the enactment of the amended Public Procurement Act, 2006 the same day. Since then the BPPA continued this kind of workshops in different districts and Upazilas on the PPR, 2025. The aim of such workshops is to educate and engage the stakeholders in face-to-face dialogues to remove confusions and increase their understanding to boost compliance with the PPR, 2025. |
