On completion of two three-week training courses on public procurement under Public Procurement Reform Project (PPRP) –II, being implemented by the Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU), IMED, Ministry of Planning, the third one began on January 4, 2009.
Organized by the CPTU, the training is being held at the Engineering Staff College, Bangladesh (ESCB) at Bausia, Gazaria in Munishiganj district.
Director General, Agriculture Sector of IMED, Md Anowar Hossain, inaugurated the three-week training course as the chief guest while Amulya Kumar Debnath, Director General of the CPTU, was present as the special guest. Prof Engineer MA Hannan, Rector of the ESCB, was also present on the occasion.
A total of 27 officials from target as well as other procuring entities are taking part in the training that will conclude on January 22, 2009.The first three-week training program under the PPRP-II was held in October, 2008. The second one was held from November 14 to December 3, 2008. About 108 such courses on public procurement will be held in next three years covering over 11000 officials. |
